Post Implementation Issue

1 Introduction

1.1 Purpose of Document

This report is prepared for final installation and support plan of MyBank that is to be carried out from installation to training phase and including support plan to troubleshoot any problem that appears in the system. This report consist detail about deployment option and plan to be followed, data migration plan, training plan, documentation, business change issue, support needs, ISST help desk structure, support service levels, benefits of helpdesk, project failure issues and finally user of feedback. The report is basis for real-time installation and support activities along with monitoring and evaluation of the progress.    

1.2 Scope

This report covers software installation plan along with appropriate deployment option and data migration plan. Not only limited to this, the report also includes continuous process of training plans to be carried out in appropriate time and support plan in case any bug or problem appear in the system with possible business change and supporting documents. The report also focuses on project failure issues and how to prevent them to meet the objective of MyBank system.Keeping all the considerations and constraints that may arise during implementation of the MyBank system this report is generated to tackle all theses possible constraints to move forward.
This report doesn’t include any of the development lifecycle and details about internal mechanism of transaction handling and data flow. However it discussed about hardware installation but it is assumed to be installed by third party Company within the given time frame. Another assumption made during the planning phase of the deployment is all the possible data that system takes and their format.

2 Installation

2.1 Deployment plan

For the scenario of My Bank System, combination of phased geographic and phased by function seems to be appropriate. As the bank has regional offices at Dhangadi, Nepalgunj, Pokhara, Biratnagar and Kathmandu (Corporate office), 71 branch offices and different sections of department in a single branch combination of this deployment option, help to deploy the new system in modular form into various different regions synchronously.
MyBank system will be first deployed in all branches of Kathmandu Region; the first module deployed is Branch Office Module, followed by Regional office module and Customer module along with two interfaces to communicate between old and new system. After successful deployment and smooth running of the system via solving all the problems and bugs the system is deployed at different geographical location i.e. at Dhangadi, Nepalgunj, Pokhara and Biratnagar simultaneously.  After competition of deployment of these module at every region MIS module is installed at last as the system would have enough data collected to generate the report where as late deployment of MIS system would not affect any business practice like other day to day business practice supporting module line branch office module. For the process of deployment Meridian solution will install production server (X-1000 application server and X-3000 database server) within 2 days and 2 database administrators along with 8 oracle developers, 3 PC support staffs and 3 Network support team will require 3 further days to migrate MyBank 2.3.1 into production server. Table 1 below explains the process briefly:-
